About Me
Before training as a counsellor, I worked in careers development and student placements at universities. I loved the one-to-one work with students, helping them navigate personal and career changes, but I always felt pulled toward supporting people in a deeper, more meaningful way. I could see how closely career challenges were tied up with personal ones, and I wanted to be able to meet people there.
It was a combination of personal experiences and a career break to focus on family that led me to counselling, and it's a path that has felt right ever since. Those experiences have shaped my belief in the importance of offering a compassionate, tailored space for anyone facing life's challenges.
During that time I completed a Higher in Psychology and a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills, followed by a COSCA Certificate in Behaviour Change and a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Glasgow Council on Alcohol, where I worked for almost two years supporting people through a wide range of personal challenges.
I am a Registered Member of the BACP and a Professional Member of Creative Counsellors.
When I'm not working, you'll find me camping with my family, on the golf course (watching more than playing), taking photographs, or in the kitchen cooking Thai or Malaysian food. Music is a big part of my life too, both playing and listening.
